Content Evaluation, Future SkillsAbstract
The current study aimed to evaluate the content of the second-year intermediate physics textbook in light of future skills and to determine the extent to which these skills are incorporated into the content. The researchers employed a descriptive approach using content analysis, selecting the second-year intermediate physics textbook for the 2025–2026 academic year as the study sample. To achieve the study's objective, an analysis tool was developed comprising 72 indicators distributed across nine key skills: creative thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, leadership, time management, initiative, and digital skills. The analysis results revealed that the textbook included 46 of the 72 indicators (60.9%), with a total frequency count of 455 occurrences. Communication ranked first (30.76%), followed by problem-solving (26.81%), while digital skills ranked last (0.43%). The study recommended developing the physics textbook content to align with future skills and increasing the inclusion of digital activities and applications to help prepare learners for the demands of the twenty-first century.
